Rani Mukherjee to play a cop in YRF’s next

In Yash Raj Films’ next project titled ‘Mardaani’, actress Rani Mukherjee will enact the role of a police officer for the first time in her career.

To be directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the film will go on the floors by the end of the year.

“Rani will be doing ‘Mardaani’. It will be directed by Pradeep Sarkar. She will be playing a police officer in the film,” a spokesperson of Yash Raj Films (YRF) said, in a talk with PTI.

The movie is supposed to be raw and gritty, something that Sarkar has not explored much.

The filmmaker had earlier directed ‘Laga Chunari Mein Daag’ and ‘Lafangey Parindey’ for YRF.

Rani’s last outing with the banner was ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’, which failed to create magic at the box office.

The film will be directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
